Just in time for the weekend, it’s a new edition of the Mixes Digest, running down the sets I’ve been cooking, editing, and running to over the past couple of weeks. Here’s what’s on deck:

  • a mix of exclusive material culled from live performances by the maker of one of the year’s most original (and astonishing) techno-adjacent longplayers

  • a 2018 set of similarly liquid forms, from a different artist, that I’ve dusted off for the light it shines on the former

  • a gently meandering selection of leftfield electronic that really does feel, and excuse the possible cliche, that you’ve handed the aux (or shared the Bluetooth, whatever we’re saying these days) to a friend with unimpeachable taste and a penchant for the unexpected

  • a surprisingly good downtempo set from an artist that I’d never quite clicked with before

…and more! Scroll on to listen to all six sets.

This one’s for the paying subscribers, as a thank you for your ongoing support. Paid subscriptions are $5 a month or $50 a year; perks include exclusive playlists for chilling and clubbing (now available on Deezer as well as Apple Music and Spotify); the ongoing Mixes Digest series; and full access to the archives, including interviews with Penelope Trappes, Stephen Vitiello, Longform Editions head Andrew Khedoori, Bristol bass trickster Bruce, drone titans Belong, Seefeel’s Mark Clifford, and more.
